Here is an example of an EP1 machine that was reworked.

This EP1 was in need of hook and needle depth adjustments,
cable and mechanism adjustments
(which moves the beam),
chassis repair (keyboard),
and lower z-shaft adjustments.
Parts replaced were hook (worn), main tensioner (check spring worn, excessive dirt in tensioner
mechanism), keyboard membrane (worn),
needle plate (needle strike damage), pressor foot
(needle strike damage),
and hoop carriage assembly (worn hoop attachment spindles).
This machine was dirty on the outside and even dirtier inside. Thread was gathered in the
cable spindles which was the cause of the cables eventually loosening and resulted in
registration issues and poor sew quality. Lint was found gathered in the bobbin sensors and
was no longer detecting when the bobbin was low or out. Lint and oil was cleaned from
the beam sensors and thread break sensor. The electronic circuit board was
dirty and
had a lot of oil on it. The circuit board was cleaned to prevent electronic failure
and prevent
connection issues with connectors. The bobbin winder mechanism was cleaned and oiled.
Our general preventative maintenance encompasses the above functions
and includes
oil and grease applied to all user accessible and non-user accessible lubrication
areas
(hook gears, carriage mechanism, etc.).

Most of the issues found with this machine are common with all embroidery machines and is why
it is
important to keep your machine as clean as possible and properly maintained.
